Sun 1st Oct 2017  :Ready for Kick off against St Oliver Plunkett's FC.

Sunday 1st Oct 2017 – U15 Girls 2004/5

Rosario FC 4 - 0 St Oliver Plunkett FC

In their first match of the season, a friendly at Ulidia, the 9 strong U15 Rosario Girls came out looking confident with 6 subs, some playing their first ever competitive match. All buoyed by the size of the crowd who’d come to watch.

In the first 20 mins, Clare Anketell, Olivia Marshall and Rosie Savage holding strong at the back, frustrated every attempt by SOPFC’s attack. SOPFC imposed little that Alyssa Veitch-McKee the first in Rosario’s nets couldn’t cope with. The solid midfield of Francesca Costa i Fassunge, Lily McKee and Connie Small battled the SOPFC defence, with some really impressive passing and switching working through the gaps and creating opportunities that Mercedes Lundy and Mollie Clinton punched at goal. Their efforts finally paid off when Xecsa having weaved through two defenders, curved the ball round the SOPFC keeper to put the elated Rosario girls in front. It was followed shortly after by a second, with a formidable finish from Mollie Clinton.

Jude Lundy the teams coach rotated the subs on in twos to give everyone a opportunity to play. Katie McCrory Caitlin Bloomer, Luisa Van Walstin and Anna Moriarty showed skill and quick reaction in mid and forward positons winning the ball and driving it toward the net keeping the SPOFC keeper on her toes. Eile McNamee and Ella Flynn tucked in between the keeper and the SOPFC attack belting away every threat.

The third and fourth goals came in the second 20 mins. An impressive run through the SOPFC defence by Mollie up the right wing with a solid pass in front of goals to Connie who put it deep in the back of the net. Roses Lily McKee followed that with a forceful shot on target that sent the SOPFC girls reeling.

The final score 4-0. A great start to the season.
